• Who is merging and why?

The Cheektowaga Chamber will be merging with the Lancaster Depew Elma Chamber effective 10/01/2026, when approved by membership. This decision is because today’s business environment and the success of many small business owners increasingly require regional collaboration. This merger creates one stronger organization that can deliver greater value, resources, advocacy and opportunities for members today and into the future.

• Is my membership valid?

Yes, all memberships continue uninterrupted, including sponsorships.  Any changes will be communicated with the membership. 

• What will this merger change for members?

Members will gain access to a larger business network, expanded programming, and a dedicated staff, while receiving the same benefits they value today.

• Now that there are more staff and members, will dues increase?

There are no immediate changes planned. Any future decisions will be communicated transparently.

• How will my town be represented?

The new WNY Chamber is committed to supporting businesses and communities throughout the region. Meetings and events will be held in all the towns within the new WNY Chamber geography. As always, members do not need to physically reside within the borders of the WNY Chamber to become members.

• Will current programs and events continue?

Many will and new programs will be added.  Likely all programs will be evaluated for member benefit. Members can visit the website (wnychamber.com) for upcoming programming

• Will Chamber leadership change?

The new organization will be governed by an agreed-upon structure consisting of board members from both Cheektowaga and the LDE chambers. Jeffery Zeplowitz, the LDE Chamber Executive Director, remains in his position, along with office staff. Cheektowaga Executive Director Greg Wichlacz is pursuing other interests. 

• How does this benefit my business?

A larger network, stronger advocacy, expanded resources and greater visibility create more opportunities to connect with others and grow your business.
